A Tudor Cottage

A delightful room with some lovely period features. The design needed to embrace the character of the room and also accommodate some large individual pieces. Whilst the Aga sat within the existing Inglenook, a large Fridge/Freezer, Work Table and Pew still needed to be drawn into the design.

There was really only one position within the room for the Fridge/Freezer so we built a casing to absorb the body of the appliance and a narrow Larder to fit snugly between this and the adjacent wall. This area then held all dry and cold food storage.

Very little could project above the Pew, this became a perfect place to position one of our Bespoke Notice Boards.

The colour palette for the cupboards needed to be lighter than the strong colours of the Work Table and Aga but needed to be a colour rather than a neutral. We used a combination of Farrow & Ball Pale Powder for the floor cupboards and Light Blue for the Tall Cupboards and Fridge/Freezer casing to offer subtle contrast.
